A Connection Video is a brief, natural interaction where you spend about three minutes face-to-face with your child on your lap, engaging in conversation and connecting the way you naturally do together. No performance needed. This is just about the two of you being present with each other.

The desire to be near each other, comfort in physical proximity, and a sense of ease together

Happy vocalizations, laughter, and the back-and-forth of sounds and words that signal mutual delight

Shared expressions, deep eye contact, and the way your faces open toward each other
Sensitivity and Reciprocity
The give and take between you -- how you respond to each other's cues and mirror each other's feelings
How to record your video

Find a comfortable, quiet spot
Choose a chair or sofa in a quiet area of your home where you and your child can settle in comfortably without distraction.

Set up your phone or camera
Position your phone or computer so it can record both of you. Aim for a side view that captures both your bodies and faces clearly. A stable surface or simple phone stand works well.
Horizontal or vertical recording is both fine

Seat your child on your lap, facing you
Place your child on your lap so you are face-to-face. This interaction is just about the two of you -- no toys, books, or screens needed. Let whatever happens between you unfold naturally.

Record for about three minutes
Start recording and simply be present with your child. Talk, play, make faces, be silly -- whatever feels natural. When about three minutes have passed, stop recording.
Aim for at least 2.5 minutes of footage

Upload your video

Both you and your child are visible in the frame
Faces are visible for most of the interaction
Video is at least 2.5 minutes long
Audio is reasonably clear -- background noise is minimized
No toys, books, or screens in the interaction
The interaction feels natural, not staged
It does not need to be perfect. Children are unpredictable and real life is messy. What our connection specialists are looking for is the genuine interaction between you and your child -- not a flawless performance. If something unexpected happens, just keep going.
