To complete your Connection Checkup and deliver your personalized report, OurConnect needs to collect and use the following information. This is required and cannot be opted out of.

Your 3-minute interaction video will be securely uploaded and reviewed by a trained OurConnect connection specialist.

Your video and associated reflection responses will be used to generate your personalized Connection Snapshot Report.

Your video and personal information will be stored on a HIPAA-compliant platform. Access is strictly limited to authorized OurConnect personnel.

Your information will never be sold to third parties.

Contributing to the science of connection

Allow OurConnect to include your de-identified data in aggregated research on how emotional connection develops across families over time.

Your experience joins a growing body of knowledge about human connection. The patterns we discover across thousands of families help us understand how connection develops, what strengthens it, and how it changes across communities and generations. The insights it generates will benefit children and parents far beyond your own family.

What does de-identified mean?

Before your data enters the research pool, all identifying information is permanently removed. Your name, email address, video, and any details specific to your family are stripped away. What remains is anonymized connection score data that cannot be traced back to you or your child. You remain completely private.

Supporting the development of automated connection assessment

Allow OurConnect to use your de-identified interaction data to help train and improve automated tools for assessing parent-child connection.

How is this data used?

Today, every Connection Checkup is reviewed by a trained human specialist. Over time, we are building tools that can assist with that process, helping us serve more families more quickly without sacrificing quality. Your de-identified interaction data, stripped of all personal identifiers, may be used to train and validate those tools. Your video will never be shared publicly or used in any identifiable way.
